WEEK 15: BAGUA GRANDE

January 15, 2019
Today we did service in the morning for a member in our ward. She lives way far away from the city, and we literally helped her build a house out of adobe. It's crazy because the people here just make adobe bricks out of mud, and then they use more mud to cement them together, and that's their house. That was pretty crazy. Also, we don't have water in the apartment, so we couldn't shower today ahahaha, hopefully we can tomorrow. Love you all.

Today was a good day, we found a really good investigator because of their pigs. Elder Moran was trying to pet all these little piglets and we found a really good family and taught them a lesson. Everyone here is super nice, we just barely met this family and they gave us mangos and popsicles and a bunch of stuff ahahhaha. I love the people here fr, and I am speaking way more Spanish now.

Today we had a lesson with a kid named Juan Miranda. We taught him a little about the Restoration of the Church and gave him a pamphlet about it. We give pamphlets out to everybody and usually we come back and no one has read anything, but Juan had read the entire thing. He explained to us how Joseph Smith brought forth the Restoration of the Church, and he explained how the Aaronic Priesthood and the Melchiezidek Priesthood was restored on the Earth. He also knew how Joseph Smith received the Priesthood and everything, and he really wanted to learn more. He has accepted a date for baptism, and it was a good day.

Today was a pretty good day, we had a family night with a family and we brought a bunch of members and it went really good. The Spirit is with us when we are working hard, so there's really nothing to worry about. It's so nice, we have food and a room and everything we need. I love this work, and love you all gn.

Yesterday was a good day, I taught my English class to a couple of new people. Usually not many people show up, but we had a couple of people there, so that was good. There are these little girls across the street from our room, and they always say "Hello!" in English, it's so funny hahaha...

Yesterday we taught some really good lessons with Juan Miranda and another family. I think Juan is really interested, and I know I say that with everyone, but he has so many questions and he actually reads the Book of Mormon and the information we give him. That is the difference between true converts and people who are not really interested - if they read or not.

Yesterday, I literally died laughing in the middle of a lesson.. We were teaching this family in the dark, outside of their house, because it was night time. Elder Moran was holding our phone light up to the Book of Mormon to read, and a moth (I swear that was the size of my fist) hit him in the face sooooooo hard. He was talking about the Book of Mormon and he literally half screamed as he was talking, ahahaaahaahahahh and I lost it ahahahahhahahah, and the whole family lost it too. That was so funny and I'm laughing as I'm writing this hahahahahahh.

Life is good. Last p-day we played Monopoly with Hermana Herlindas' granddaughters and we totally destroyed them because they're 12 and 9 years old. They are not baptized, so we're going to baptize them in a little bit.

I love this work. Today we had a great group of people come to church. We decided we are going to stop seeing those that aren't interested in learning, and we are starting to find more people to teach that truly want to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and if the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. That's probably the thing that is the most difficult, when people waste our time and we can't focus on those that are truly wanting to learn more. But everything's good here. Love you all and tomorrow is pdayyy.
