WEEK 18: BAGUA GRANDE
February 4, 2019
Today was a good p-day. We played soccer, the Elders from Chachapoyas came to Bagua for Zone meeting, and it was good. Elder Wilson brought his rugby ball and we played a little. It was sooooo nice to throw a rugby ball again, I miss playing soo much. We ate hotdogs again today, so that was good. Elder Moran might be transferring after this cambio, so that's sad, we really be vibing in the companionship, and we have a lot of people progressing here.
We had a family night with Hermana Herlinda and her granddaughters and we played Jenga. I've never seen Hermana Herlinda so hype over anything, she was so good. She's like 76 and she was flexing on us playing Jenga, she was so good ahahahaha. Love you all gn.

Today we had a really good noche hogar and ya boy directed it in complete Spanish. I can finally make jokes in Spanish, so I think I'm growing in my language ability. I love this work, and I feel so good when we're super tired at the end of the day. That's really what we supposed to be doing here, just working and not worrying about anything. I love this work, and I love talking to everyone now that I know a little Spanish. The people are way funny here, and they're all laid back like nothing matters which is way tight. I love the culture here.

A lot has happened this week, but nothing super out of the norm. We have just been working, it's been raining so much this week. And it's hard to dry our clothes when its raining all the time hahahaha. Life is good.
Juan Miranda couldn't get get baptized this week because he was taking a test in Piura, but he's gonna get baptized this next week.
Yo mama, we got your package and hollyyyyyy thank you so much. We couldn't believe all the stuff you got us. Yeah sorry we opened it all already ahahahhhaha. I love all of the ties and the shirts and most of all the rugby ball holyyyyyy, thats so nice to have here. The people are so amazed to see a different kind of ball other than a soccer ball, so wow mom thank you sooooooooo much. For real I feel like I'm at home, oh my I been missing those Kit-Kats and chocolate like back in the states, wow, love you so much, mama.
Yesterday we were proselyting and Feo, Herman Herlindas dog, followed us for the entire day, from like lunch time until 5 or 6. He was just walking with us, fighting with other dogs as we were trying to contact people. He was following us the whole way until we had to take a moto taxi to this one lesson, and even then he was still running behind us following us, until he got caught in another fight with these other dogs. That was so funny.
I think I'm growing in my language ability, and yeah life is good. Oh yeah, Elder Moran is getting transferred this cambio, and I'm going to stay here and direct this area. I'm so excited actually. I love this area, and I just want to work. I hope I get a latino companion fr, I wanna learn more Spanish, but everything's good. We taught some good lessons today. Love and miss you all, gn.

Elder Moran left, and I'm chilling here directing my area. It's going to be way hard actually, I'm responsible for all of the people here and for the work of the Lord here. It's a big responsibility, but the Lord will help me. Yesterday I cooked up 2 of my freeze dried ground beef for Elder Moran before he left. Everyone loved it hahahha, it was soooo good to eat real beef again. All the beef here is like from skinny old milk cows that died from old age, it's like 30 year old meat. But it was good to eat beef again. We are going to do lots today, but love you all so much and I'll write soon.
