WEEK 25: PIMENTEL
March 26, 2019
Today we got to my new area. Yes, I had to change areas. I left Bagua Grande two days ago, and travelled in a bus for nine hours that played Chinese movies with blasting speakers the whole time. I arrived in Chiclayo after p-day ended so I couldn't write, sorry mama.
But we out here. I'm in my new area, Pimentel, which is basically the beach part of Chiclayo. It is so nice here. Our room has windows and there's always such a nice wind outside. My new companion is Elder De la Cruz, who is the Líder del Distrito, and he is great. And I'm working out here. Our cell phone only works while we are on the roof, and it is so pretty here. There is just lots of open sky. I saw the sunset for the first time in five months because there are so many trees in Bagua. I love this place already.

Today was a good day. Our area is super weird, we have like five different cities in our area, but they are all super far away. So we have to take 100 million buses from area to area. We are kind of hurting for investigators, but we are looking.
The members here are so amazing. There's this family called the Monja family, and they are such a good, strong family in the Church. We were able to get about seven references from Hermana Monja. I love this area, and we are praying for more people to teach.

Today we found some new people to teach, so that's pretty good. These past couple of days were a little long, but we are finally making a little bit of headway. Elder De la Cruz is super sick, his way of talking is really cool. We had an interview for this lady we are baptizing tomorrow, and we went to Chiclayo for another baptismal interview as well. It is actually really weird being in Chiclayo, there are so many members and big churches. And I've have been in Bagua this whole time, it's pretty crazy.
We are working hard, and it's so nice sitting on the roof at night with the cold wind, listening to the city. I love this area.

This area is actually pretty hard, hahahaha.. There are some really great members here, but there is also a ton of people that don't want to hear about the gospel. But I am learning that the more you have faith and keep trying to act on your faith, and the more patience you have, the Lord always, always helps you out.
Oh also, today we saw the beach. We are supposed to stay three blocks away from the ocean, but neither of us knew that part of the city, so we had to find the beach to stay three blocks away from it. But it was so pretty and I love this place.
We found some really good people to teach today, and now we just have to do all we can to teach them about Jesus Christ. Now I'm sitting on the roof with a cold breeze, and life is good and I love this work.
