WEEK 45: Remigio Silva
August 12, 2019
We had a really sick p-day today, we went and saw the Christ statue that is in our area on a big hill. Then we played futbol all day.
Then later we had a really good lesson with this one family that has listened to missionaries before, but had turned away from the Church for a while. We were super lost as we were trying to find their house, so we called a number to have the daughter of the family tell us where they lived, and by pure help from God we were able to find their house. When we arrived, there were so many people there because someone in the family had passed away and they had gathered together. So we taught a really powerful lesson and everyone in the house was listening and asking questions. The lesson was like two hours long, it was so great. So then we got home at 10:00 de la noche.

It is really hard to write because we've been so busy working all day, every day for the past two weeks. We have been leaving at like 7 in the morning and coming home at 9:30pm, and we are so tired. It's pretty sad because I never write the best parts of this mission because we are so busy. I almost never write when I'm with a companion I love chilling with, because we just mess around at night, talking forever.
Some really crazy things happened this week. We started with one person with a baptismal date, and now we are finishing the week with 5 people ready to be baptized. Something the Lord has really helped us with is with this one hermana that we are teaching. Her name is Teresa and she is the mom of another recent convert. The other Elders were teaching her before but we felt like we needed to continue to try and help her. The Lord helped us soften her heart. She goes to the hospital every day for a necessary treatment, so we have to teach her at 7:00 in the morning before she goes. We have been going over there every other day, and she is progressing rapido. She didn't want to set a date for her baptism because she didn't feel prepared enough, but we had a lesson with her where the Spirit really changed her heart and mind. She is really excited to get baptized now. She was only holding back a little for an issue with her health condition. But she had so much trust with us that she told us her concerns and we helped her to know that we could adjust some things for her baptism. So now she is getting baptized on August 31.
We are really seeing some big miracles here. I love the saying "you gotta pray like everything depends on the Lord, and work like everything depends on you" and in that way we really find success.
