WEEK 46: Remigio Silva
August 19, 2019
Today for p-day we played futbol all day and nothing else, and we had a really good day. Elder Lopes' family is going through some things, so we were working to get his mind off of that. We are teaching this family that wants to get baptized, but they have to get married first, and they are without work, and you really just want to give them all the money you have. But then you think, God is a lot bigger than the little bit of money that we have. I know God lives, and I'm reminded of it 100 times a day.

Today we witnessed a miracle. I'm still out of my mind how crazy this was. We taught this hermana and her daughter, who are both very active in another church. We were teaching them about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and as they were asking so many questions, we were guided by the Lord in what scriptures to share and what to say. We taught them for several hours, just answering questions and helping them understand more about the Gospel and the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Elder Lopes and I were almost crying, and they were too. The Spirit was so strong, and wow, I don't know, it's something really that the Lord did for us today. These hermanas are so great, and as we explained the truths of the Gospel, I saw the look on their faces change completely as the Holy Ghost testified the things we were teaching them were true. I felt a lot of love for these sisters, and I thank my Papa Dios that He gave us this experience today. Todo a mi Papá Dios.

Today we saw more miracles, and it is amazing how much God really helps us. We met with this hermana today for the second time, and she is so ready to get baptized. She read the Book of Mormon, prayed, felt the Spirit testify of its truthfulness, and now she wants to get baptized. That is what missionary work is, we really just present the message, and the Holy Ghost does all of the work.
I feel so grateful for all that has happened to place me here in this area. We are teaching a lot of kids and they are all so funny. You can really tell that they are children of the Kingdom of God.

We had Intercambios yesterday, so I wasn't in my area. But Elder Lopes and I are burning up this place, well it's really not us, it is the Lord who is giving us so many blessings here. The days really go so fast, and that is the saddest part.
We are seeing so many things happening here, we are going to marry this couple so they can get baptized. I am really starting to love the people, and that is the most important thing. In the mission we work with a lot of members, but if I had 300 baptisms and I didn't have charity for them all, it would mean nothing. But I want these people to succeed in coming unto Christ. I love these people.

Today was interesting. This morning we were going to visit Teresa at 7:00 in the morning, but we got there and her daughter had left the water on all night, and it flooded their house. So we got some mops and helped them clean it all out. But we found some really good people to teach afterwards. Sometimes it's crazy how many chosen people we find everyday, like they are just super prepared to hear the message.
Later in the afternoon, Elder Lopes was way sick and having a hard time with his stomach, so we stayed in our room. That was the first time I have ever stayed inside from proselyting in my mission. But it's all good, cause I know Elder Lopes would work if he could. We had actually left to go to a super important lesson, but in the middle of it, Elder Lopes was saying in English "Let's go, let's go", so we finished and ran home. He is in pretty bad shape, and I already gave him a blessing. We couldn't even leave to get dinner, and our pensionista was not answering her phone, so we out here just living on the Word of God. But we have Stake Conference tomorrow, and we have to bring a lot of people there, so I hope Elder Lopes can leave the room. We out here living the dream. I love this mission.

Today we found Hermana Elisa. She has been going to church for a really long time but was never baptized. When we asked her why, she just said no one ever invited her. So she accepted to get baptized on the 14th of September. We had Stake Conference with a member of the Quorum of the Seventy, Elder Moscoso, and it was a really good day.
Later we found a couple to teach that are actually married, and we be feeling the Spirit with these people, which is the most important thing. There is such a difference when we listen to the Spirit.
