WEEK 53: Remigio Silva

October 7, 2019
Today was a really good p-day. We played soccer for a long time on a synthetic field, which was great because I haven't played on turf for so long. My companion Elder Gomez is a super good arquero, or goal keeper. Then we made French toast together as a zone, and later wrote and called our families.

In the evening when we went back to work, we found a golden new person to teach. She's not married to her boyfriend, but we were led to her in a perfect time. She really wants peace in her family and in her life, just like all of us.

Today I completed exactly one year in the mission. We met with Eder in the morning, and he had actually read the Book of Mormon and knows it's true. We also had Liz's interview and she's been so ready to be baptized for months, now she is finally going to do it. I really hope that Eder goes on a mission, that would honestly be one of the best things I could ever ask for.

We are so blessed here, and I am learning to love the people more. We sort of had a hard afternoon, as we visited some other people from another religion, and they really weren't open to learn anything. I thought, these people are wasting our time, because our time is literally like gold. But then later we visited this other guy named Imer, and we were teaching him, and I just felt so much love for this man, like a Christ-like love. And that is really why we are here, to love, and serve, and teach. And I'm still learning how to be a better missionary. I love this work, and to already be halfway done with my mission really hurts. It be hurting my heart already, but we are gonna be working for this next year. All day, every day.

Today we basically contacted all of our area. We don't really have a lot of people to teach, so we are looking. We had like a million contacts, but it's really important to be guided by the Spirit or else it's basically like wandering around all day.

Today was Stake Conference, and they created a new stake. We brought some people to the conference, so that was good.

A couple of nights ago I had a crazy migraine, and it was so bad I couldn't sleep. It was hurting so bad I was throwing up and everything. I took like 30 pills, but nothing was working. So I woke up Elder Gomez and he gave me a blessing, and I had to tell him the words to use as he was half asleep. When he finished the blessing, my headache had gone away and I was able to go to sleep like normal.

Today was a battle. Eder was supposed to get baptized, but he became discouraged because his Grandma is not supportive at all, and he is just having a hard time. But that is ok, Presidente Balderrama didn't show up to his own baptismal service when he was being taught by missionaries because he was scared too. So if he didn't show up to his first baptismal date, and now he's a mission president, it's all right that Eder needs a little more time too.

We fought a battle so that Liz could get baptized today too. We went by to invite them to Stake Conference, but they never showed up. Later Liz sent us a message telling us she couldn't get baptized because she had a really bad headache. So we went and gave her a blessing of health, and then she was able to come to her baptism, and I was able baptize her. From day one it is a fight between Satan and us. It's always a fight, even when everything is so close to being done. Liz, starting to listen to the missionaries like six months ago, and then other Elders worked so hard with their family, and then we finally got them married, and now finally Hermana Liz was able to get baptized.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to fight the Lord's Fight. Today was a good day.
