WEEK 56: Demetrio Acosta
October 28, 2019
Yesterday we had 11 people come to church, and that really was a miracle. This lady that we just started teaching came to the capilla (chapel) and she literally loved church. I love working with the members here, they're all so cool, and their testimonies really help those learning about the gospel. But we stayed up really late last night because we had to do our plan de Zona today. I really like seeing the desafíos (challenges) in the Zone and then thinking with the Spirit of revelation as to how we can help our people. I am honestly seeing miracles, and I know that every work is worth it's salary.
So we out here, and I don't think I've ever been more happy. The mission just makes you want to progress and keep progressing in spiritual things and in the way we act. I know I'm changing a lot as a person, and more as a teacher. I love this work, and everything is so good.

Today was a really good day. We met this one lady named Carmen, Elder Costa already knew her, but she was so awesome. We taught her and it wasn't even like a lesson, it was just like a conversation with an old friend. She's going to get baptized hopefully real soon. There's this one guy we're teaching named Jorge, and he's going to be baptized tomorrow. He's already been coming out to help teach lessons with us. He's really a sick dude, and he has such a strong testimony, which he always shares with others. His brother is a recent convert that is currently serving a mission. Jorge is 27 years old so he can't leave on a mission, but he's great at helping the work progress right here where we're at. It was a really good day.

A lot of things happened today, and it was a good day. Jorge was baptized and that was really great. He is going to be really strong in the Gospel. He has become one of my best friends in the mission. We also went to lunch with Karin and Katyasha and taught them the first lesson. They are so smart and they are going to pray and ask if this message is true. Karin also went to Jorge's baptism. I'm just really grateful for all that's happening here. I love my Zone and the Elders and Hermanas here.

Today we only had five people come to church, but it was still a really good day. I love Elder Costa. Yesterday we were at the baptism of Jorge, and I was leading the music, and Elder Costa and Jorge started laughing. So I started laughing so hard while I was up there directing the music. I almost died laughing. But really you got to laugh a lot in the mission.
Today we found a couple more escogidos (chosen) people to teach, they're so amazing. Now we just have to trust they're going to get their answers, like Sayra, who is really interested in finding the truth.
We just really don't have much time, we are so busy. We're always running from place to place and we get home at night and have to call everyone. And at the end of the day we are just dead. But it's the best.
