WEEK 59: Demetrio Acosta

Today we had a really amazing experience. We have been teaching this hermana for a long time, Hna Katherine, and she's amazing. She has been praying for so long, and she has gotten her answer. She dropped a lot of stuff in her life and has really gotten to know her Savior, and she was ready to get baptized a long time ago. She has really felt the Spirit in our lessons and knows that all of this is true. But, she told her mom that she was going to get baptized and her mom wasn't cool with it, she was actually really against it. We always went with this Hermana en la Iglesia, and when we got there, Presidente Balderrama was there too for another appointment. So he came into our lesson with Katherine, and he shared his story of when he was baptized. He was 15 when he met the missionaries, and was baptized even though his parents said they would kick him out of the house. And he and his brothers did get kicked out for a couple of months, and then they were able to go back. But it was a really powerful moment and Elder Moon (intercambio) and I talked about a couple of other things and then she accepted to be baptized, just like that. That was a real answer to my prayers, and I know that nothing is an accident.
