WEEK 60: Demetrio Acosta

November 26, 2019
Today we saw another miracle. Well, we have been seeing a lot of miracles this week. We have three new people that have accepted a baptismal date. The first one was Kevin, who we found in the street. He's 18 years old, a skinny kid studying, far from home. We invited him to church and he came and loved the people, he's so golden. He has been seeing some miracles in his life just for listening to the Gospel message, and he accepted the invitation to be baptized on the 14th of December.

Also, today we had a really crazy day. We went to this random pueblito (small town) outside of Lambayeque to eat ceviche at the house of the branch president (we had permission to eat ceviche por ser caso) and we knocked on this door and this lady let us in. We gave her a really simple first lesson, and invited her to pray. Then she told us about a dream she had the night before. She had a dream about how she was looking for truth, and she saw three white lights walking down the road, and the three lights knocked on her door, and filled her house with light. The thing is, today Juan Jose (Lobito) was with us, so there were three of us today, and we were all in white shirts and ties. I usually don't believe in dreams like that, but when she was telling us about the dream I felt the Spirit, so I felt it was a good dream.

Also, we have been working for a long time with Karin and Camila, and today we had a really powerful lesson about repentance and baptism. The Spirit was really guiding us as to what to say because we hadn't planned anything. But the Spirit was crazy, and they both accepted a baptismal date for the 7th of December. When we told Karin that she could live with her daughter forever, she was so emotional. I know that families can be together forever, and there is great importance in telling everyone that they can live again with their loved ones if they follow Christ and His Gospel.

It was a great day and it makes you feel really grateful to be a part of this, like when you didn't really do anything. I love my companion, and it makes me a little sad that he's going home in a bit. It still hasn't hit him, but it's going to. I love the work.

Today we just did a bunch of administrative stuff and we left to teach in the afternoon, and we found some really good people. We got news that there is going to be sisters in our same city, and we are going to split Lambayeque in two.

Today we taught Karin and her daughter Camila the Word of Wisdom, and it went really well. We are expecting a lot of people tomorrow in church.

It's really easy to feel the Spirit when you teach really clearly and simple. Also, this week we had so much food, we ate so much ceviche and parrilla and now we're finishing the week with a fast. Elder Costa leaves in a couple of days, and everyone has been giving him things, and me too, so that's sweet.
