WEEK 66: Lambayeque

January 11, 2020
We have been really busy these past days. It was a new goal of mine to write every night, but here we are 11 days after New Years and it's the first time I've written.

Today was a good day, even though some days you don't really feel like you've accomplished anything, but you just have to trust that the Lord will make something of your efforts. And that is when the little things make miracles happen.

We got home super tired, so we're gonna go to sleep now.

Today was a pretty good day. We hadn't taught a lesson for a long while, but today we found someone and taught a really good lesson, and then I remembered why it is that we are here.

We were also teaching this girl and her mom called and told us that we couldn't visit her any more, and the girl was so sad, but we couldn't really do anything about it.

I feel how I am getting closer to the Savior as I read more of the scriptures, and it really is something to see your converts active and learning in the church. Raquel and Lucy have been going to church and they have their friends there now, and that is why we're here, to baptize converts. I'm focusing more on the teachings in Preach My Gospel because I'm trying to remind myself of the basics.

Life is good, and in our zone we don't have very many people to teach, but we're getting a lot better. We have a lot of new elders and sisters in our zone, and we're trying to receive revelation to help everyone out here. There's a saying that I really like, "The wicked will not have rest, but the righteous don't need it." It's because the righteous are always active in a good cause.

I've been thinking a lot about the future. Not in a trunkie way, but in a setting-goals way, and it's actually really edifying to set goals and other actions. I know the mission is making me a better person, and there are so many lessons that one can learn just by being here.
