WEEK 68: Lambayeque
January 25, 2020
Yesterday we went to a devotional with Elder Holland for new converts. We brought Raquel, Lucy, Kevin, and Jorge Gamarra, and it was so good. The purpose of it was to basically strengthen new converts, and it really did, but it was also very focused towards everyone - missionaries, members, and those learning about the Church. But it was amazing. Elder Holland read Hebrews 10 and and taught about how God will fulfill all of His promises, ALL of His promises, and that we should not "cast away (our) confidence."
God has promised us some really amazing things, and today we saw some of those great promises. Something that God gives us to show us our blessings, personally, is through our Patriarchal Blessing. Those are promises that are fulfilled.
We found a really awesome sister to teach named Alejandra, and she accepted to be baptized. Sometimes it's hard to have charity for everyone you meet, but other times you feel a strong love for someone when you first get to know them, and you know the Gospel will help them so much.
Today was a really good day. A lot of times, we're ungrateful for the things God does for us, but He waits patiently for us, and always helps us. I love this work. A lot of times it's hard, but God always keeps His promises.
I've been missing rugby lately, because I saw this team playing on the TV of a restaurant.
Oh, also Raquel had an interview with the Branch President, and they told us that the Church was going to help her go to school and study. Her faith that she had to get baptized on the 28th of December really is bringing forth blessings in her life. It is amazing to see the promises of God being fulfilled.
