Yesterday we got the news that we're not going to have church anymore, and that was pretty crazy. The coronavirus is spreading, supuestamente (supposedly), but the craziest part is now we can't bring people to church. We got information that all the people that were going to be baptized this week are going to be confirmed in the baptismal thing. But, everyone was freaking out about the coronavirus, but honestly, it's like a dream for me. I've been waiting my entire life to be in an apocalypse situation.
Last night my companion and I made our plans of how we're going to Colombia to pick up his family, and then how we would get to Panama in a boat, and then go through Mexico to get to Utah. We already have everything planned out, but also, we need to stay focused not the work.
Today we had a lesson with Walter Moro, and he's the best. He's like 102 and he had dialysis today, but he understood lesson one really well, and was super excited to go to Church, until we told him that there wasn't going to be services. And so he invited us to go eat ceviche with him on Sunday instead.

Dear parents and relatives of our missionaries, on behalf of President Balderrama, we send this communication regarding what is happening in the Peru Chiclayo Mission. All the missionaries are safe and sound, we have been organizing everything necessary to enter a quarantine state, all the missionaries have enough food to be in their rooms for a period of 15 days or more, in addition to a medicine cabinet to cover basic aspects. Tomorrow the missionaries will seek to communicate with the family in the normal way as every Monday, and in case they cannot because of the same situation, know that they are well. Everyone will receive enough money to cover their needs. We invite you to put your trust that the Lord cares for his servants, and in the promise that says: “… Behold, I will go before you and I will be your rear guard; and I will be in your midst and you will not be confused ”(D&C 49:27). Any questions or concerns you have, do not hesitate to ask us, we will be informing you regarding the matter, we are doing everything possible to maintain the safety and well-being of our missionaries, so that they continue to harvest souls for the Lord.

Parents of the Peru Chiclayo missionaries,
We’d like to apologize for writing you so late at night, but we have a few updates about your missionaries here. President Balderrama has asked us to write this email in order to inform you that during the past week, we bought all of the necessary supplies for your children in order to go into quarantine, and starting tomorrow all of the missionaries will receive bags filled with enough food to last for at least 15 days, along with all of the materials that they will need to cook the food they’re receiving. Tomorrow they will take out emergency money (in case of emergency😉), and the families that normally provide them food, their “pensionistas,” will also be able to bring them their meals. They will have more than enough to eat and they will be safe in their rooms starting tomorrow. All of the missionaries have been informed that they can use members computers or any other form necessary in order to communicate with you all, but if they happen to not find time to write, don’t worry! All of your children are safe! We hope and pray that you are all safe in your homes. Know that your missionaries are in good hands. Just as Thomas Marsh received the promise that he and his family would be protected and blessed, the same promise is given to each and every one of you. We will continue to “thrust in our sickles with all our souls” through phone calls with our investigators who are progressing, and we will continue to see miracles in our areas (D&C 31:1-6). Thanks for supporting us out here! If you have any questions, please let us know. We’re here to answer any questions that you might have, and we will continue to give you updates as often as the quarantine allows us.
With love,
Elder Zimmerman

Hey mama, how ya'll doing? We're doing really good here in Lambayeque. This week we had sacrament meeting in a member's house, but it was really awesome. Because the sacrament was really spiritual, I realized the reason that we go to church is only to take the sacrament and so the Atonement can have power to change our lives. It was really awesome.
Last night we got news that we were going to go into quarantine for 2 weeks, so this morning we got bags filled with things that we need to survive for 2 weeks. This is so awesome, its like a dream to be in an apocalypse finally. But we are are really good here, we're safe, and we are just trying to see how we can keep sharing the gospel, while not being able to leave a lot.
But I love you all so much, hope everything is good at home. Actually we're hearing that its a lot worse in the states than here, so I think I'm actually safer than ya'll at home. But love you so much, if something happens and the world ends, my companion and I already have a plan to pick up his family in Colombia, and then leave in a boat to Panama and than hit Utah after going through Mexico.
