WEEK 22: BAGUA GRANDE

March 9, 2019
Today we had the baptism of a Hermana, and she is so amazing, her husband was a member for a loooong time like 12 years. They got married this past weekend, and we have been teaching her for about 2 weeks now. We taught her lesson 1 in one visit, lesson 3 in another visit, and lesson 2 and 4 in the other visit. We literally have had 3 lessons with her, and she's already gotten baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  She's so amazing, her testimony is so strong. Her husband baptized her today, and it was a dang good baptism. She bore her testimony afterwards -- and I knew she had a testimony of these things, but the most satisfying thing isn't to baptize someone, but it is to see them converted with such a strong testimony and working in the church faithfully.

Another Hermana we are teaching has the greatest faith I've ever seen. She sells little pieces of chicken for one sol a piece and she lives off of that. Sunday is the busiest day of the week here in Bagua for shopping, but after we taught her about the Sabbath day she accepted it right away, because she has so much trust in God. It's crazy to see that actually.

This week has been really good, and that's pretty much all that happened. We have been guided by the Spirit this week a lot. Love you all and we found a centipede bigger than my hand and they bite and they have a ton of poison, so yeah we out here with that. Love you all.

Yeah we just out here working doing our thing. We had a Father and son that we are teaching come to church today. The father is the nicest, funniest dude of all time. He really has the Light of Christ in his eyes. As we teach people, and as they come closer to Christ you can literally see a difference in their attitude and demeanor, and in the way they act. It's crazy to see that, but it's a real thing. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints  we're really all on the same vibe here. I love the branch here so much and I don't want to leave. I love Presidente and all the other members, and all is good here.

We fasted yesterday, because we missed last week, and we started our fast off with a lunch of a bottle of yogurt and a big bag of cheetos mixed with pigskins. I ate so much that I was going to be sick, but we made it alive through the fast.

I love this work, and I love eating off the street here. It's a little bit hard to find the best places to eat, but we have this breakfast place on this corner where this lady sells chicken sandwiches and chifles, which are basically banana potato chips, and leche de soya and all of that. I love this breakfast spot and the ladies that sell there love us. But we out here working, and tomorrow's p-day and we will talk to you tomorrow afternoon probably so, Love you all.
