WEEK 33: PIMENTEL
May 20, 2019
Today we played soccer in a field without a roof for 50 sols, and we only had 8 Elders there, so that was p-day. Then we went to the room of the Zone Leaders and got KFC and played Monopoly Cards. That game lasts forever.
We actually had a great day proselyting as well. We found this guy in a random house to teach. It was funny because this man had pictures of Jesus Christ and some saints, and photos of his wife (that had passed away), and then literally on the other wall he had a ton of pornography, all over the wall. That didn't make much sense to me. But we taught him a good lesson (with our backs to that wall), and that went really well. Then we were able to go with the Bishop to a couple more houses to teach.
It is really important to help others learn all of the things we do, but even more importantly, I am finding that when I share my heartfelt testimony others truly feel the Holy Ghost. It has to be a testimony that is real, because if you don't actually know those things are true, they are just empty words.

Today was a good day, we have been teaching more people and we are really trying to have faith that we are going to get a baptism this month. Life really be good in the mission, but sometimes I feel like I'm not doing absolutely everything I can. I just want to teach everyone everything, but sometimes I am weak, and it's harder than you think. But I am trying to depend on the Lord, and less on the strength of my own arms. I love this mission and I know I am supposed to be here.

Today was actually a really good day. We found a pretty good room in Pimentel for super cheap, so that's sweet. We are going to move there before the 31st.
We taught this new guy named Jose, who is 81, and he is great. It is so nice to find someone who understands the things we are teaching. He is super vivo (I don't know how to say that in English) but he is great. Today we also had a lesson with Carlos Capitan and we've had almost 8 lessons with him. Today he really understood what the Book of Mormon really was. As we explained that it is a book of sacred scripture and read with him, the Spirit really helped his understanding and it was so great to see him finally get it.

Today nobody was home, but it was still good. We just walked around the whole day, and contacted a bunch of people. Now we are home in our room, and we played a couple games of Monopoly cards, and I destroyed Elder De La Cruz. Life is good.

Yesterday we had Intercambios with the Assistants to the President, and I got to stay in our area, so that was amazing to lead my area for a day. We found so many people and it was such a productive day. I was with Elder Lyon from West Valley, he is a really good missionary and super tall. For once I wasn't the tallest person for miles. But he is super effective as a missionary. Today we got a lot of work done too. We were able to teach Jose, and he is set with a baptismal date for June 15th. We are finding a lot of really good people to teach, and life really be good in the mission.
We ate salchipapas for the 6th time this week, and my BBQ sauce finally ran out, so that's pretty sad. But we out here working.
